Create a problem by selecting a reactant and a reagent from the lists on the right below. When the Show Problem button is pressed reactant(s) will be displayed in the drawing window, and important information concerning the reaction will be presented in the information window beneath. Using the drawing window, draw a structural formula for the chief organic product formed in this reaction. Do the single-step reactions first. The first step in the two-step reactions will be one of these, and the second step will be displayed when the Show Problem button is pressed.If no reaction is expected, draw the starting reactant structure.
You may use the CLR or DEL buttons on the row at the top of the drawing window to modify the formula of the reactant(s) and to remove a + sign. Use the X button to draw hydrogen. In some cases you may have to draw two or more species using the NEW button. Once you have drawn your answer, press the Check Answer button to have it evaluated. Press the Reset button before trying a new problem.
